VMware vRealize Automation 8.0.1 - Hotfix 1 Released

When it comes to vRealize Automation 8.0, VMware has been moving full steam ahead with rapid product updates containing new features, capabilities, and bug fixes. Continuing this trend, on January 17, 2020, VMware released the first hotfix for vRealize Automation 8.0.1. Included in it are three enhancements, ten improvements, and fifteen fixes for items relating to the IaaS API, Provisioning, Action-based extensibility (ABX), vRealize Orchestrator (vRO), and Virtual appliance/clustering.

The hotfix can be installed using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.0.1. It is recommended to install vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager 8.0.1 Patch 1 before installing vRealize Automation 8.0.1 Hotfix 1 (Build 8.0.1.7409). To download the patch for import into environments not connected to the internet, visit the VMware Product Patches page and select vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager for the Product.

The steps to install vRealize Automation 8.x hotfixes using vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager are:

  1. Log in to the vRealize Suite Lifecycle Manager.
  2. Click Lifecycle Operations, navigate to Settings > Binary Mappings.
  3. Click Product Patch Binaries.
  4. Click CHECK PATCHES ONLINE to get the latest list of available patches.
  5. Once the Check Patches Online request is completed, click the download icon of the vRealize Automation 8.x patch present under the Product Patch Binaries list.
  6. Trigger the patch installation for vRealize Automation within the Environments page using the product actions, click Patches > Install Patch.
  7. Select the patch from the list of downloaded patches.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Review and Install the available patch and click Finish.
  10. The patch install request progress can be tracked under Requests.
  11. To view the history of patches from Environments, click Patches > History
